Tim Sunderland

My name is Tim Sunderland and I own a strategic marketing and advertising agency in Southern California called Gonzo Marketers.

Gonzo Marketers is a strategic advertising agency. We seek to have long-term commitments with clients in which we become an active marketing partner. We work with our clients to identify their marketing challenges, help them choose the correct plan to address those challenges, and then work to implement that plan.

That plan might include print advertising, radio, television, direct mail, electronic marketing, public relations, buzz marketing, internal changes, or any of the other marketing solutions that might exist.

We chose the name Gonzo Marketers for a couple of reasons. On the back of our business card we paraphrase the Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia. Gonzo is a term used to refer to a style in which the creator is intrinsically enmeshed with the subject action. Gonzo was first coined to refer to journalists,who, rather than observing as neutral bystanders, became active participants. Both Hunter S. Thompson and George Plimpton were referred to as Gonzo journalists because they chose to be right in the middle of what they were reporting about.

Gonzo Marketers chooses to become intrinsically involved with our clients.

The other reason we chose Gonzo Marketers is because more often than not people ask us what the name means, so we get a chance to explain it. It becomes more memorable

Gonzo Marketers does not specialize in any specific industry because we enjoy the synergy that often occurs from taking a solution we used successfully in one industry, making some slight modifications, than using it successfully in another industry.

It is this variety that makes marketing so much fun. We look forward to sharing this fun with many of you in the future.
